Independent Contractor Qualifications
The positions below are offered as independent contractor opportunities rather than traditional employee roles. We're looking for qualified professionals who bring the following to every job:
- A minimum of one year of relevant, hands-on industry experience
- Reliable personal transportation and a willingness to travel to assigned service locations
- A valid, unrestricted driver's license
- Current vehicle insurance coverage
- Personal or general liability insurance
As with most independent contractor arrangements, professionals are expected to supply their own tools, equipment, and insurance coverage; these are not provided by Fix Vise.
Tools & Equipment to Bring
Exact needs vary by role, but a well-equipped mobile technician typically arrives with:
- Precision screwdriver set (Phillips, Torx, Pentalobe, etc.)
- Spudgers, suction cups, and plastic prying/opening tools
- Anti-static wrist strap or ESD mat
- Heat gun or heating pad for screen/adhesive work
- Tweezers and a multimeter for diagnostics
- Cleaning supplies (isopropyl alcohol, microfiber cloths)
- Cordless drill, basic hand tools, and a ladder (for smart home installations)
- A smartphone or tablet for the technician app, diagnostics, and invoicing
Perform on-site phone, tablet, and laptop repairs directly at customer locations. We're urgently expanding our contractor network across Texas - ideal for experienced, reliable technicians who can travel to assigned jobs.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of hands-on device repair experience
- Own reliable vehicle and willing to travel to assigned jobs
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to work independently
Take on complex, board-level repairs and higher-value jobs across our service area.
Requirements:
- 3+ years of device repair experience
- Microsoldering and board-level repair experience
- Own reliable vehicle and willing to travel to assigned jobs
- Apple/Samsung certification preferred
Install smart home devices including locks, cameras, thermostats, and lighting systems at customer homes and businesses.
Requirements:
- 1+ years of installation or electrical wiring experience
- Knowledge of smart home ecosystems
- Own reliable vehicle and willing to travel to assigned jobs
- Customer-facing experience
For technicians building toward senior-level work. Bring your existing hands-on experience and grow with us.
